(IND) SENIOR MANAGER, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Position Summary...

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Enterprise Business Services is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, Associate Digital Experience. We are Leaders & learnings domain in Walmart EBS People tech. We work to provide world class learning experience to more than 2.1 M Walmart associates. The team is looking for a strong Senior Manager who will lead the Support Team for SAP Finance.

As part of the Support Team for SAP Finance you will support associates and supplier facing services and products that drive differentiated experiences and cost savings. What you'll do:

• Recruit, mentor, coach, and make effective world class engineering teams. 
• Daily management of objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, risk and performance management of all reporting staff. 
• Provide technical leadership, career development, and mentoring to team members. 
• Assign areas of ownership, ensure engineers have clear priorities and adequate resources. 
• Maintain high morale and motivate engineers to go above and beyond. 
• Participate in architecture discussions and planning with Product Management, Customer support and delivery organizations. 
• Communicate status, risks to delivery dates, and offer mitigation strategies to ensure on time delivery of all committed projects to cross functional teams.
• Develop, implement, enhance, and maintain build and release management tools.
• Be operational savvy and look for process and product improvements to drive operational efficiencies.
• Develop junior members by coaching, empowering, reviewing results, both in technical areas and in “soft” skills.
• Be self-driven and identify gaps knowledge gaps and prepare plan to address those gaps.
• Analyze requirements to develop and execute consistent procedures, automation of builds, continuous integration, upgrading source code management practices and structuring source tree for efficiency and stability

 

What you'll bring:

Minimum Qualifications 

• Experience of minimum of 14+ years in computer science or engineering OR Master of Science in computer science or engineering and 8+ year experience in the field.    
• Understanding of ABAP and ability to debug programs/function modules to understand and troubleshoot code    
• Expertise in one of multiple of these technologies:  SAP Finance – AP,AR,GL,TAX,TR, AA, MDG, UI5, Fiori, Mobile Apps (Ionic + AngularJS, React), Workflow, SAP HANA, BI, Data & Analytics tools, Netweaver Gateway, SAP OOABAP, and SAPUI5 applications
