Software Development Manager

We are at the forefront of developing a generative AI digital assistant for people analytics, known as Vee, which delivers rapid, user-friendly insights to HR leaders. Vee leverages natural language processing and generative AI to provide accurate narrative answers. Vee provides this unique insight by leveraging people data extracted from various data sources and providers. Visier is seeking a smart, passionate, and skilled development manager to join our Singapore team and play a key role in advancing this transformative technology.

In this position, you will be responsible for building and leading our R&D team in Singapore. In addition to your people leadership responsibilities, you will also be hands-on, solving complex technical problems and providing expertise that allows our team to develop new features effectively and efficiently.

What you'll be doing...

• Providing leadership and mentorship to a team of software engineers
• Setting challenging yet attainable goals for the team
• Establishing good development practices in the team
• Managing projects and development of new features
• Gathering requirements and designing new software features
• Understanding business requirements and translating them into manageable deliverables
• Providing task breakdown, dependencies, and time estimates in technical design documents
• Collaborating with stakeholders in other departments and fellow developers
• Designing high-performing cloud-based applications with strong fundamentals in client and server architecture
• Developing the core technology for innovative, high-performing, cloud-based applications in generative AI and machine learning

• Experience leading software engineering teams and delivering projects critical to the business
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms

• Strong communication skills
• A solid academic background with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Additional assets would include 

• experience with prompt engineering and LLMs, 
• LLM application frameworks such as LangChain, 
• prompt testing,
• functional programming languages,
• knowledge of various HR data sources and providers and their APIs, and client-server programming, as well as familiarity with modern web technologies.
