Job Description

The Visa Operation and Infrastructure team is looking for a dynamic, proactive, and enthusiastic Consultant-level Systems Engineer - Cloud Engineer. If you enjoy problem-solving and overcoming challenges, this could be the role for you. In this position, you will primarily focus on public Cloud Account Consolidation and other O&I supported Get-to-Green(/G2G) activities. You will collaborate with a geographically diverse team, including Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Lead engineers, in an agile and fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include evaluating existing systems and solutions, providing integration solutions, and implementing integrations that meet Visa standards and cybersecurity requirements. Additionally, you will handle ongoing maintenance and support following the completion of the G2G migration and operationalization. The ideal candidate will have extensive cross-domain knowledge in various AWS services, networking, cybersecurity, Linux systems, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, logging and monitoring.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5+ years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3+ years of work experience with a PhD, OR 9+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical or other relevant engineering field
• Solid understanding various AWS services such as VPC, Subnet, NACLs, Security groups, Service Control policy, EC2 Autoscaling group, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.
• Experience designing, building, and running production systems in cloud or migrating to the cloud such as AWS, practicing infrastructure as code, automated testing, autoscaling, and self-healing
• Experience automating system tasks and infrastructure using a scripting language (Golang, and Python), with configuration management tools (Ansible), service registry and discovery tools (Consul and Vault, etcd), infrastructure orchestration tools (Ansible, and Terraform), and automated imaging tools (Packer)
• Experience using and optimizing monitoring and observability systems (Sysdig, Prometheus, Grafana), log aggregation systems (ELK, Splunk, Fluentd), familiar with emerging OpenTelemeter standards
• Deep understanding of the Software Development Process including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline tools such Jenkins and GitLab. Familiar container deployments in Kubernetes environments using tools such as ArgoCD or Flux
• Able to understand the security tools and standard methodologies such as CIS Benchmarking, OS hardening, vulnerability scanning, and system auditing
• Strong analytical skills and able to work independently to solve sophisticated engineering problems. Make independent judgments and decisions within established guidelines
• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration. Able to work well in a global matrix management environment.
