Overview

As a senior leader of our Business Systems Engineering team, you will work cross-functionally with users, business stakeholders and engineers to make our internal systems and tools environment dynamic, intuitive and easy to use. You will play a key role in the architecture, design, and development of tools that allow the company to go to market, execute and fulfill orders and recognize revenue. Your work will directly affect Verkada customers, partners, and internal users. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership, to make the company’s systems and tools work well at scale.
  • Accountable for driving project execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to define and communicate goals, priorities, and processes.
  • Support the business requirements of multiple departments and prioritize work based on impact and cost.
  • Own the process for how new processes, data, and fields are added into our go to market, fulfillment, and finance systems to ensure the user experience is maintained.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing engineering managers.
  • Extensive experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions, especially in building internal tools that support business running at scale.
  • Proficient in agile team software development and project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
  • Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.
  • Passionate about technology, staying updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite, and AWS.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with service mesh such as Istio

Pay Disclosure

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
