Engineering Manager

As Engineering Manager in Veeam, you will lead a focused team of engineers to build and run components of the Veeam Data Cloud, the world’s most successful, modern, data protection platform. You must be an excellent technical and people leader who will own and drive engineering excellence. You will be responsible for team and individual development as well as mentoring the next level of engineering leadership within the company. Reporting to the Director/VP of Engineering, you will have a high level of autonomy but be held accountable for delivering business results. 

Your tasks will include: 

• Build and maintain a geographically distributed, highly cohesive, and motivated engineering team.
• Find creative and iterative ways to solve problems as defined by Product Management.
• Ensure teams work effectively and efficiently to deliver customer value and business results.
• Actively participate in design discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Act as a point of escalation during on-call and support the team as needed during on-call.
• Promote Operational Excellence best practices across your team.
• Measure and improve software development processes.
• Remove organizational bottlenecks and blockers for your teams and projects.
• Promote career development of team members.
• Play an active role in the broader Engineering leadership team to promote continuous improvement across the Engineering team and cross-team collaboration

What we expect from you:  

• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams to build successful SaaS products in a fast-paced environment.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building and running high-scale cloud-native applications.
• Experience promoting a culture of Operational excellence with SaaS products.
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure
• Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a talented and opinionated team.
• High emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and empathy for others.
• Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
• Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results
• Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
