Job Description

Energise your career
If you like the idea of working on projects that make a fundamental difference to the lives of people in your community, then perhaps you should think about a role at Vector.

So much of what we take for granted in our everyday lives is enabled by the work that Vector is doing to ensure our infrastructure is fit for purpose for a rapidly changing future.

Across our network we are transforming the way that Auckland's critical infrastructure is delivered through high-tech data-led solutions and customer first thinking. It's a dynamic, energising place to work because what you do here matters to everyone.

About the role
We're inviting applications for the position of Control Systems Engineer/Senior Control Systems Engineer, with the flexibility to appoint at either level dependent on the experience of the successful candidate.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of Vector’s ADMS system. This will include configuration and programming, fault-finding, testing and commissioning the master station side of remote devices.

You’ll also help define and execute the Control Systems roadmap (ADMS, OMS, SOM, etc) for Vector and in collaboration across the Vector Group.

Senior Engineer candidates will play a key role in mentoring and coaching other engineers in the team.

In addition to a heap of variety from day to day, this role offers a rare opportunity in New Zealand to work with a newly-commissioned ADMS system being used in interface with GIS.

Who we are looking for

  • You’ll hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with 5yrs+ experience in electricity and/or electronic engineering
  • You’ll be experienced in Control System (SCADA) configuration and administration, preferably GE PowerOn Advantage ADMS.
  • You’ll be decisive, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Naturally, you’ll have a strong health and safety focus, and be proactive in your approach to getting things done
  • Senior candidates will have GE PowerOn Advantage ADMS application experience as well.

What we can offer you
