Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Systems Engineer based at company HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55402. Telecommuting available anywhere in the U.S. 

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for using design and internet/intranet platform experience to contribute toward the success of US Banks technology initiatives. This role will lead creation of standards for new technology and be involved with designing, modeling, and implementing hardware and software solutions for inter/intra platform hardware and software solutions. Specific duties include:  

  • Be an Apigee product infrastructure administrator for a high-volume API solution with experience in the full lifecycle of the product/infrastructure, from design, to setup, to support. 

  • Design, develop, configure, and troubleshoot APIs and policies using Apigee.  

  • Implement requirements of the API layer including security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications, rate limiting, and developer portal as the Apigee product infrastructure administrator. 

  • Design and develop API platform to connect to various disparate backend systems for seamless data exchange and build and support the APIs through the entire lifecycle as the Apigee product infrastructure administrator. 

  • Design, build, manage and operate the Apigee product infrastructure as an Apigee Product Administrator for a service layer (hosted and cloud-based platforms) that supports different platform services. 

  • Work with the following tools and technologies: Middleware API tools including Apigee and GraphQL Gateway, Cloud, DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Rancher/Docker, automation, scripting, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) Stack, CI/CD Pipeline, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Bitbucket.  

  • Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap. 

  • Plan, implement/assist the Engineering team in quarterly/yearly upgrades for hardware, firmware, and software for yearly roadmaps.

  • Assist with around-the-clock monitoring, acting on alerts, analyzing errors, trends, and resolutions. 

  • Identify and recommend optimization and error reduction and performance improvement enhancements. 

  • Take a lead role in collaborating with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Utilize troubleshooting skills in the API Management and Gateway space. 

Basic Qualifications:  

This position requires a Master’s degree in a Computer, Engineering, Technology, or Management field (including MIS) plus 3 years of related systems engineering experience. 

 

Required Skills/Experience: 

Must also have 3 years (36 months) of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) Designing, building, managing and operating the Apigee product infrastructure as an Apigee Product Administrator for a service layer (hosted and cloud-based platforms) that supports different platform services. 2) Implementing requirements of the API layer including security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications, rate limiting, and developer portal as the Apigee product infrastructure administrator. 3) Designing and developing API platform to connect to various disparate backend systems for seamless data exchange and building and supporting the APIs through the entire lifecycle as the Apigee product infrastructure administrator. 4) Designing, developing, configuring, and troubleshooting APIs and policies using Apigee. 5) Working with the following tools and technologies: Middleware API tools including Apigee and GraphQL Gateway, Cloud, DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Rancher/Docker, automation, scripting, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) Stack, CI/CD Pipeline, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Bitbucket. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. 

Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $107,432 - $150,500
