About the Role:
At Tubi, we bring best-in-class user experiences to tens of millions of users across hundreds of devices, including gaming consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation, Smart TVs, cable boxes, and set-top boxes. Our Front End team spearheads multiple platforms, including our website and a wide variety of OTT devices, and is looking for an experienced and challenge-hungry Senior Software Engineer to join the team. This is a high-impact role where you will see the visibility and direct impact of your work toward company revenue and user growth.
Responsibilities:
- Writing highly performant rendering code that can work on low-spec devices with as little memory usage as possible
- Lead the technical architecture and implementation of scalable and resilient applications that run on multiple platforms, such as web, mobile, and smart TV devices
- Building or even ideating innovative product features to help our users discover and consume content
- Take ownership of the codebase and proactively identify opportunities for refactoring and development process improvement
- Mentor and coach other team members by sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging professional growth
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the product and the team's skills
- Conduct research and experiments to validate new ideas and hypotheses, and use data to inform decision-making and optimization
Your Background:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Exceptional knowledge of JavaScript, Web APIs, React/Redux, and HTML5/CSS
- A passion for continuously shipping quality code with good test coverage
- Working understanding of browser internals, including networking and how the rendering cycle works
- Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
- Proven experience in building highly performant and scalable web applications
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and primarily asynchronous work environment
