Job Summary:

As a member of our Sustaining Engineering team, you'll be responsible for working closely with Development, Product, and QA teams to coordinate efforts to develop fixes and enhancements to our platform. The successful candidate will bridge the gap across the UI, API, and other background services while collaborating with the rest of the engineering team to identify areas of optimization and clarity in the existing codebase.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and/or participate in design, development, and implementation of sustaining software projects
  • Troubleshoot and debug software code to optimize overall performance
  • Provide leadership and ownership for major facets of software technical support investigations
  • Investigate technical support issues and provide resolution recommendations and implementations
  • Serve as primary interface with customer-facing support team on software technical support issues
  • Analyze Production Escalations (Issues) and partner to determine root cause
  • Review overall defect trends to help identify areas needing re-factoring
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies as part of a cross-functional team
  • Collaborate with QA to aid in developing quality testing scenarios
  • Ensure code is properly maintained in version control systems
  • Provide detailed code documentation in-line and via documentation collaboration tools for use by other developers and Technical Publications
  • Identify product enhancements that makes supportability and troubleshooting issues more efficient

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product development experience preferred
  • 2+ years of development with PHP backend, building web services and RESTful APIs
  • Hands on experience with database technologies (MariaDB, MySQL) and Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related
  • Self-starter, not afraid to dig into problems

 

Technologies Required:

  • Server-side scripting knowledge (Node.js / PHP / Python)
  • Familiarity with REST API constructs
  • Familiarity with asynchronous request handling
  • SQL language expertise
  • Software Design Patterns

  • Docker containerization
  • Laravel
  • MySQL / Solr / Elasticsearch
  • Splunk
  • Python / PHP / Bash
  • Linux (CentOS)
  • Atlassian suite (Jira / Confluence / Bitbucket)
