Web Engineer, Senior Tech Lead

Position Overview:

The Climate Corporation seeks a senior staff web engineer to join one of our dynamic Product delivery teams working in cloud based distributed environments.  You will have the opportunity to work with large, "big data" sets such as scientific data, machine generated data from our farmer's equipment to geospatial data, precision agriculture, remote sensing, weather and or soil data.  We are revolutionizing the agriculture industry by helping the world's farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools.   If you are someone that is passionate about innovation and excited about being a key contributor to building a sustainable business, The Climate Corporation would love to talk to you!

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with Engineers, Data Analysts, Product Managers, and User Experience experts to craft an experience that will impact the face of farming.
• Review technical designs, help with estimates for solutions to implement the new features per Product’s specifications.
• Guide the architecture of the web applications, working with the enterprise architects and all the engineering teams.
• Research and identify innovative solutions for our team.
• Work with an open, inclusive team engineers who are committed to continuous improvement, and quality.
• Share your knowledge and experience, mentoring team members as well as keeping an open mind to learn from them.
• Participate in code reviews. On our team we thrive on making our code better, in a constructive way.
• Write code and comprehensive tests (unit, UI, e2e).

Basic Qualifications:

• 12+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, we use React), building and debugging apps on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, and mobile browsers).
• Experience with JavaScript, and modern CSS.
• Experience working with Product, Design and Back End to ship ground-breaking features.
• Champion of web standards, accessibility, and modern web development industry standards.
• Pragmatic approach to the trade of between the short-term benefit of rapid software delivery and long-term value, comfortable with pushing back when needed
• Interest in working with a team that values testing.
• Excellent communication skills, brings teams together to solve technical problems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with any of the following: server-side JavaScript (Node.js), GraphQL, TypeScript.
• Experience with JavaScript language features (ES6+, Promises).
• Experience performance tuning JavaScript/browser applications.
• Experience developing single-page applications.
• Experience with test-driven development and tools like Cypress, Jest

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $156,425.00 - $248,888.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
