Staff Data Engineer 

Climate LLC’s Seattle, WA, office seeks a Staff Data Engineer. This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position that will be responsible for building data pipelines to efficiently and reliably move data across systems. Duties include: (i) helping to design and build a Business Analytics Warehouse and building and maintaining the core data model, ETL/ELT, core data metrics, and data quality; (ii) rapidly prototyping new analytics views and working directly with stakeholder across multiple functions; (iii) architecting, building, and launching new data models that provide intuitive analytics to business users; (iv) developing infrastructure to inform on key metrics, recommending changes, and predicting future results; and (v) designing and developing new systems and tools to enable users to consume and understand data faster.

This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position that requires the employee to be able to work in our Seattle, WA, office three (3) days per week.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.

Experience must include five (5) years with each the following: (i) designing and implementing Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models; (ii) designing and coding for Data ingestion, transformation and Data Quality of Big Data in a distributed data processing framework using Apache-Kafka, Spark, SQL, No-SQL, Postgres or MySQL; (iii) implementing modern data infrastructure at Petabyte scale (1 billion+ events per day) for streaming and batching data in AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform using combination of S3, EC2, CloudWatch, Kinesis Athena, EMR or Sagemaker cloud-native services; (iv) implementing Workload Automation using Control-M, Apache Airflow or Autosys to orchestrate complex Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs); (v) processing, storing and exchanging Data in CSV, JSON, Avro, and Parquet formats; (vi) deploying software code using Gitlab, Terraform,  JIRA, Postman, and Docker containers; (vii) Implementing PII, PCI, GDPR, or CCPA data compliance policies for Data security and Governance using IAM, Encryption, Hashing, and VPC; (viii) designing and implementing relational models for Data discoverability using HBase, Neo4j, or Cassandra; and (ix) building visualizations using MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, or PowerBI.

Experience can be concurrent.

This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position that requires the employee to be able to work in our Seattle, WA, office three (3) days per week.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $202,000 to $225,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
