This role is perfect for an ambitious Data Engineer looking to grow and work with real-time data. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record designing, building, and launching innovative systems with a focus on data resilience and accuracy in the e-commerce space.
The ideal candidate is passionate and can champion data not only internally but to our customers. Presented with a problem space this person can translate business and data requirements into deployed production-ready stacks. This person will help shape data collection, analytics, experimentation, compliance, and business processes as part of a cross-functional team.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Create data pipelines to handle batch and streaming ETLs
- Create and implement efficient solutions to enrich existing data workflows
- Create software/technology that will be the foundations for future machine learning engines such as personalization and recommendations
- Identify and report data resilience issues to key stakeholders
- Define and implement Data Governance across the organization
- Handle PII with Google Cloud Platform Services
WHAT SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
- Be confident working within a real-time data collection system
- Provide data-focused solutions and obtain buy-in from stakeholders
- Experience working with stacks such as BigQuery, DataFlow, Data Studio, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Google Cloud Run, Apache Airflow, etc.
- Experience with SQL
- Experience defining schemas, modeling data, and managing a Data Warehouse
- Experience with Java
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Data Encodings such as Avro, Parquet, Protobuf, Thrift, etc.
- Experience with Apache Hbase or Google Cloud BigTable
- Experience with Apache Beam or Apache Flink
- Experience with Apache Druid
- Experience with Lambda Architectures

Annual compensation range: $160,000- $180,000 USD
