Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Security Engineering SRE Operations Leader will oversee and optimize the reliability, availability, and performance of our security technology stack. You will be responsible for leading a team that provides operational 24x7 support for our security technologies across multiple platforms and environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in production monitoring, a deep understanding of security operations, and a proven track record in managing large-scale production systems. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across the organization to identify and resolve issues, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) expertise to the security technology organization and maintain business-critical technologies  

  • Partners with the technology and security leadership to define the intent, vision, and roadmap for the overall program. 

  • Work with engineers & technology leadership to establish well-documented runbooks for the SRE team 

  • Build and maintain 24x7 support and on-call model for supported technology stack.  

  • Lead incident management for security technology issues, from detection to resolution, ensuring the seamless operation of our systems and infrastructure. 

  • Supports the organization through any technical incidents related to security technologies.  

  • Build and maintain comprehensive operational monitoring metrics for security technology platforms 

  • Partner across infosec to maintain comprehensive documentation of platform architecture, configurations, and procedures facilitate efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution. 

  • Be the ITSM security leader and support all platforms through change and incident management, including reporting and problem resolution.  

  • Represent Infosec Technology on relevant Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and ensure operational resilience and health amidst enterprise technology changes. 

  • Define and monitor SLAs for platform tooling capabilities to ensure alignment with customers' expectations.  

  • Provides strong problem-solving engineering expertise in the relevant domains.  

  • Strives to develop an engineering excellence program focused on reducing manual efforts with automation and gaining efficiencies where possible.  

  • Lead and provide people management responsibilities to a team of engineers.  

  • Partners closely with Information Security Architecture to ensure proper design patterns are implemented and engineered effectively.  

  • Serves as the central point of contact for all engineering responsibilities as it relates to this domain.  

  • Ensures that as part of designing and building efficient cyber security logging capabilities, they are achieving industry best practices, compliance and regulatory requirements such as NIST, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.  

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.  

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in SRE, DevOps, Information Security, Engineering, Application Development or related field OR in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and minimum 9 years equivalent work experience.  

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an SRE or similar role  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role  

  • Deep understanding of production monitoring systems, log analysis, and performance metrics. 

  • Strong leadership and communications skills, with the ability to succinctly and effectively communicate critical issues 

  • Experience developing, mentoring, and supporting team members 

  • Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.) with a detailed understanding of operating systems and networking 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), and/or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)  

  • Certified AWS Certified Sysops Administrator, AWS Certification Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty 

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impact of emerging business and end-user technologies have on information security requirements and architecture 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business 

  • Proven strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven track record of weighing the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one 

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in existing security and IT systems and an ability to keep pace with changing security and IT technologies

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on demonstrating previous experience effectively influencing others at all levels within the organization and cross functionally 

  • A team-focused mentality with proven experience to work effectively with diverse stakeholders 

  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, verbally and in writing, in an easily understood, and actionable manner  

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
