Role Summary/Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategic vision and implementation of the Synchrony multisource financing (MSF) strategy within our merchant/provider and consumer facing point of sale channels. The ideal candidate will be adept at quickly understanding a variety of technologies, possess a strong Product Management background with a focus on digital payment products, merchant/provider experience, market research, and have a proven track record of delivering strategic, multi-platform programs on time and within budget.

This individual will be responsible for working with the cross functional product, technology, sales, and commercialization teams to create a robust MSF strategy and roadmap that will support Synchrony’s fragmented merchant and provider base across Health & Wellness, Home, Auto, and Lifestyle. The strategy and roadmap will need to coincide and align with the overarching multiproduct strategy being implemented in these platforms.

The role will require a deep understand the importance and purpose of merchant point of sale channels (Provider Center, Business Center, Integrated Hosted Solution and Business Center Transact) and will partner with platform leaders and key clients to integrate our preferred lender program into our existing apply and buy flows to ensure a holistic consumer experience, ultimately driving more approvals.

This role requires a bold, proven leader with demonstrated ability to drive growth and change across large organizations with cross-functional support. An ideal candidate brings the ability to be an expert and advocate for our merchants and cardholders when representing their interests within Synchrony’s supporting organizations and digital product teams. This role will require ideating on not what is, but what could be and then communicating and at times selling that vision across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with 3rd party lenders to define goals, scope, and detailed requirements for integrating those experiences in to Synchrony managed point of sale channels

  • Partner with UX/UI resources to build an integrated flow marrying these lenders products and offering alongside our own

  • Incorporate preferred lenders into critical processing functions like prequalification, application, account number lookup, purchase and refund

  • Architect a unique experience utilizing a common framework/template for merchant and provider experiences to support broad scaling with future unknown lender partnerships

  • Determine what additional data elements and status updates are required to inform integrated clients/partners of status and completion

  • Partner with point of sale channels Product Managers to design flows, groom requirements and ultimately prioritize a roadmap for the strategic initiative

  • Work with necessary data teams and product managers to facilitate a consolidated set of reporting to show all applications, transactions and funding events for lender partners.

  • Provide regular updates to Senior Leaders and partner with go to market team to develop product marketing strategy and materials

  • Build a strong cross-functional network and foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of product, sales or marketing experience in the credit card or financial services industries

  • Minimum of 8 years Product Marketing or Product Management experience to include:

  • Proven project or program management experience in cross functional environment

  • Knowledge of journey mapping and customer profiling

  • Familiarity working in a SAFe Agile environment

  • Demonstrated influencing skills with senior leaders and cross functional teams

  • Travel may be required up to 25%

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with financial services and specifically financing

  • Experience with point of sale product management

  • Demonstrated thought leadership coupled with strong communication skills and ability to help teams connect the dots on new ideas, processes and strategy

  • Ability to leverage technology to create new processes and drive efficiency gains

  • Proven track record of delivering results; must be process and detail oriented, capable of handling large workloads through multi-tasking

  • Demonstrated strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills at multiple levels of organization

  • Sales or Marketing experience in credit card networks, financial services, or healthcare industry

  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results

  • Consumer finance and/or retail marketing experience with an understanding of core financial drivers

Grade/Level: 12

                                                            

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
