Overview of the Position:

As a Backend Software Engineer, you'll work across teams to develop and/or implement various REST APIs using Python frameworks, architect and manage databases supported by MySQL and deployed on AWS, and interface with various modern blockchain applications. As an expert in backend software engineering, you'll be a key component of the development of cutting-edge gaming products leveraging new technologies.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day tasks: Maintenance & architecting backend systems
• Design & architect responsive, resilient, scalable services to support millions of users
• Creatively blend security best practices to keep user data secure and prevent exploits*
• Design and implement APIs and protocols that are consistent and well-documented*
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve under often-changing requirement environments* Maintain an automated test suite to validate backend service correctness

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a backend coding role*
• Developed, deployed, and shipped at least 1 full product in either gaming or SaaS*
• Fluent in Python, SQL, FastAPI, Flask, and Django*
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, including AWS and out-of-the-box solutions

• Familiarity with gaming backends*
• Familiarity with web3 technologies*
• Familiarity with Linear, Discord, and Notion*
• Portfolio of contributions to open-source software
• Years of Experience: 5+

• Gaming Industry experience - REQUIRED
