Engineering Manager - Looker Studio/Power BI

Come lead our development team responsible for our biggest product yet!

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Looker Studio/Power BI team in Helsinki HQ. You can also work fully remotely from Poland or the UK.

In this role, you will… 

• Lead one of our main products, Supermetrics for Looker Studio, for marketers all over the world and, together with the team, solve interesting challenges on distributed systems.
• Oversee the launch of a completely new product, Supermetrics for Power BI
• Balance the role with technical expertise and managerial skills to lead the team effectively and drive successful project outcomes.
• Collaborate across all the engineering teams and other departments.

Your day-to-day work and responsibilities include…

• Leading a team of skilled engineers, helping them achieve their full potential, and empowering them to deliver high-quality core components for Supermetrics for Looker Studio and Supermetrics for Power BI. 
• Providing guidance and mentorship to team members, assisting with problem-solving, code reviews, and architectural decisions
• Working with the product manager, designers, and other stakeholders on building the product roadmap, planning new features, setting priorities, resolving blockers, and allocating resources
• Continuously evaluating and improving engineering processes and practices to increase efficiency, quality, and team productivity
• Reporting progress/issues/blockers
• Coordinating cross-team work and collaboration
• Having 1-on-1s with team members and coaching them
• Being responsible for KPIs that indicate technology and product success for the domain
• Occasionally helping the team in hands-on software development, debugging, testing, and monitoring.

This position is for you if you have…

• Great understanding of architecture & software design
• Experience in frontend development, especially with React
• Experience in backend development with any technology
• Good grasp of the software testing discipline
• Understanding of software development processes, such as Agile or Scrum
• Familiar with project management tools, such as JIRA
• Understanding of monitoring tools and ability to interpret monitoring data. This includes tools such as OpenSearch, Grafana, etc., which are used to track application performance and system metrics
• Experience leading and managing engineering team, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Attention to detail, delegation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication in English and experience working in an international environment, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have skills...

• Basic data analysis skills to make informed decisions based on metrics and data, contributing to evidence-based strategies.
• Strong knowledge and experience with different databases (MySQL, Redis, Google BigQuery).
• Conversion Rate Optimization / Growth hacking
