Senior Android Engineer - Order & Pay

Your new team

Order & Pay is one of SumUp’s newest tribes, on a mission to create unique and efficient ways for consumers to buy goods and services, from QR-code-based pay-at-table solutions to large touchscreen kiosks. We're experimental and entrepreneurial, and we like to move fast, iterate frequently and are constantly looking for new ways to add value to our customers.

 What you’ll do 🏃‍♀️

• Work with a small passionate team of talented people imagining the future of payments
• Lead the technical design, architecture and engineering of large features on the android application
• Pair program, share knowledge and mentor others in the team on good coding practices
• Proactively spot technical issues and recommend solutions to improve the reliability, security and maintainability of the codebase
• Be a leader in your technology, and an evangelist for quality Kotlin code
• Have a collaborative vision of the product process. Every member of our team is involved from ideation to implementation

Your profile 🫵

• 3+ years of experience working on large-scale Android projects
• You have solid expertise in Kotlin and Java 
• You have experience in API design and/or Domain Driven Design
• You are familiar with developing and integrating libraries into apps
• You have good writing skills and you’re able to communicate your ideas and designs effectively
• You know what to test, why to test it, and how to write flexible tests that won't break
• You are experienced with Android development tools
• You care about user interaction, usability and of course, making beautiful user experiences
