Sr. Product Manager - Data/Analytics/Reporting 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Manager to set our Data and Analytics reporting strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for setting an outcome-oriented product strategy and driving the overall vision, market strategy, and business cases for our products. As the leader of your product, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, marketing, engineering, sales, and senior executive leadership to solve customer problems and achieve specific business objectives. You will define our reporting BI strategy and lead the teams on vendor evaluation and selection to support the platform moving forward. 

Your responsibilities will include guiding the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization, while ensuring successful product commercialization and go-to-market execution. You will be the market, customer, and product expert within the organization, accountable for bookings, revenue, retention, and margin. This entails gathering and prioritizing market requirements, maximizing portfolio ROI through the right mix of product initiatives, and working closely with the development team to deliver capabilities that meet specified requirements and objectives. 

The ideal candidate will possess visionary and analytical skills, with the ability to track the impact of every dollar invested in products and demonstrate how it benefits customers and creates value. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical background in data analytics tools, who is eager to stay abreast of industry trends, business dynamics, and customer needs, and develop a strategic plan for driving exceptional revenue growth. 

Responsibilities: 

Product Strategy: 

  • Develop and articulate a clear product strategy aligned with business objectives and market demands. 
  • Identify opportunities to address customer problems and drive incremental business value from Minimum Viable Product (MVP) through to Minimum Lovable Product (MLP). 
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancements and innovation. 
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate the value of prioritized features and how they fit into a larger overall strategy. 

Product Knowledge and Strategy for the Future: 

  • Mastery of Your Product:
    • Serve as an expert on how the data products work, including understanding data ingest, transform, load, table structures, and technical components.
    • Recognize product performance from an end-user standpoint and engage in conversations on all facets of the products, including data quality, responsiveness, reliability, etc. 
  • Mastery of the Technology Involved in Your Product:
    • Engage in discussions regarding the suitability of technology solutions and provide feedback on architecture decisions.
    • Stay updated on innovations in the product and customer domain to ensure continuous improvement. 
  • Roadmap Planning:
    • Create and manage the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.
    • Prioritize features and releases based on a deep understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements.
    • Clearly articulate the problems that need to be solved for customers and quantify the value to be created.
    • Define and deliver the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for each strategic bet.
    • Stakeholder/Customer Obsession – Keeping Customers Top of Mind: ○ Own the product roadmaps, continually managing them to support the product vision and key business priorities.
    • Ensure products are working well and evolving appropriately for global functions and markets.
    • Conduct regular end-user product feedback sessions and advocate for the end-user experience. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products on time and within budget.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication to drive successful product development.
    • Join forces with other Product Managers across the organization to ensure alignment and coordination across products.
    • Be the catalyst for collaboration, partnering with Initiative Leads & Stakeholders to maximize value delivery.
    • Own the product backlogs, participating in Intake Product Triage and prioritizing the backlog for all products. 
  • Product Development:
    • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and release.
    • Make data-driven decisions and continuously iterate on products to optimize performance and user satisfaction.
    • Oversee changes being refined and implemented by the Product Owner to ensure coherent vision and prioritization. 
  • Capacity and Resource Management – Managing Your Product Team:
    • Manage capacity and demand for the team, including development, market enablement, bug resolution, and testing.
    • Provide capacity forecasting based on the prioritized roadmap to ensure end-to-end readiness for releases and major new features. 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working with BI and data analytics products in the B2B SAAS market delivering embedded reporting and dashboards, as well as supporting custom report development for internal technical stakeholders and professional services. 
  • 5+ years of product management or similar experience, specifically with business intelligence products in the mid-market to enterprise space. 
  • Working knowledge of API and cloud-based solutions to support internal stakeholders, customer technical organizations, professional services, and partners.
  • Familiarity with ML, NLP, and data science technologies preferred. 
  • Understanding of containerized and microservices architecture preferred.
  • Skilled in defining and prioritizing product opportunities, establishing feedback loops, and creating product metrics. 
  • Proficient in Agile methodology and experienced in working within distributed, global teams, and adept at navigating challenging conversations to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Ability to balance growth, innovation, and retention strategies. 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in complex decision-making scenarios. 
  • Deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and prioritize work for maximum impact. 
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams and delivering results in dynamic environments. 
  • Strategic thinker capable of analyzing market conditions, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to identify key customer problems. 
  • Resourceful problem solver with creativity in finding solutions. 
  • Team player who aligns with company/portfolio strategies and executes initiatives that benefit the overall organization. 
  • Comfortable with both the art (user empathy, design) and science (analytics, statistics) of product management. 
  • Experience in nimble product delivery organizations with close collaboration between product, design, and engineering.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and provide guidance and mentorship to Product Owner direct reports. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
