OVERVIEW:

Sportradar, the global leader in understanding and leveraging the power of sports data and digital content, is seeking a Backend Developer for the Audio-Visual team in Trondheim. As the official data provider for some of the world's largest sports leagues, Sportradar has exclusive distribution rights to all in-game data, including live play-by-play stats and sensor data.

THE TEAM:

Working as a part of the Audio-Visual Tribe development team in Trondheim, the Senior Java Software Developer will be responsible for implementing backend applications together with team members. We are looking for a new developer to our Analytics platform team which is important to provide correct analytical results to internal stakeholders as well as to our clients. Provided data is a point of truth for business decisions as well as important for billing purposes which leads to being careful about outcomes. The AV dev teams in Trondheim support the business needs of the AV vertical for content and client management, analytics, live operations, and post-match reporting. Most of the daily tasks involve working with Java, SpringBoot, Kubernetes, Gitlab CI/CD, AWS Aurora, Redis and other tools.

We are looking for someone who has a clear passion for development and creating state-of-the-art solutions, has a sound working knowledge of Java as well as good skills in databases and MySQL, knows new and current technological trends, designs and development processes, keeps an eye on results correctness as well as solution testability and maintainability.

THE CHALLENGE:

• Work with the following tech stack: Java (majority is on 21), SpringBoot (3), Kubernetes, MySQL, Redis, etc.

• Participate in Code Reviews and writing tests – we are a quality-focused company.

• Contribute to developing new solutions, sharing your ideas and opinions, and implementing them.

• Have a space to develop your skills during our self-development time program.

YOUR PROFILE:
Must have:

• 3+ years of experience in backend technologies like Java or Kotlin.

• Well-experienced with MySQL.

• A problem-solving attitude, i.e. not just focused on writing code, but on tackling complex problems and determining how best to solve them.

• Willing to investigate differences in different dataset results and the best ways to make them identical.

• Understanding of software architecture principles.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services like Redshift, ElastiCache, etc.

• Experience with Java Testing Frameworks.

• Familiarity with API development.

• Willingness to practice TDD and pair programming.

• Proactively identify improvement areas and propose changes with clear benefits to the team.
