Responsibilities

  • Operate as technical leader defining technical roadmap and vision for them.
  • Lead initiative from inception to completion working closely with product managers, other stakeholders to understand their use cases and converting them into technical requirements and prioritization.
  • Participate in full software development cycle- working with stakeholders to gather requirements, design and develop solution including test automation, deploying in production and providing operations support.
  • Participate in system design reviews, code reviews and ensure non-functional requirements (scale, security, operability, usability, etc) are considered and appropriately documented.
  • Provides mentorship for other developers to help them improve their technical capabilities as well as develop the soft skills required to articulate and advocate for a roadmap.
  • Build relationships with cross functional teams and discuss the solution/system to solve sophisticated business problems.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in one of the following languages and the ability to quickly learn new languages: Java, Go, Python and C++.
  • Experience building services and applications with microservices architecture or Kubernetes.
  • Strong fundamentals in software engineering: data structures and algorithms
  • Experience working with public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure and others.
  • Experience in working on distributed systems like databases, distributed file systems, distributed concurrency control, consistency models and CAP theorem.
  • Experience leading the teams as technical lead/architect.
  • Has strong communication skills, stays organized, detail oriented and able to work with remote teams.
  • Experience with REST, gRPC, CI/CD(Gitlab, Jenkins)and test automation frameworks and familiarity with event driven architecture.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating system, their components and experience debugging and creatively addressing problems via CLI.
  • Driving operational excellence for the team and think beyond feature delivery into how your code is serving customers in production
  • Proven experience in software development methodologies including Agile.
  • Education and Experience:
  • BS EE or CS degree; 12 + years related experience (or Masters and 8 + years related experience or PhD and 5+ years experience)
