Job Description:

JOB TITLE:  Software Engineer

LOCATION: Dallas, TX (hybrid role, may work from home)

DUTIES: Design, write program code, test, document, and implement application systems; respond to production problems and implement resolution efforts; work alongside other engineers to elevate technology and apply best practices; collaborate with customers and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals; document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance; determine and assess user needs and create software to meet requirements; identify and resolve issues that arise during design, testing and maintenance processes; work in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software; prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming; mentor junior team members; improve and expand technical capabilities thru reading, workshops, conferences, or practice communities; create Lambdas to connect external payment data to internal forms of payment; create deployment pipelines; create unit tests for Lambda functions; responsible for exception handling for payment failures, timeouts and other scenarios; secure connections between internal and external API calls using Ping; convert Kafka to XML & JSON; mentor new hires and lead Scrum ceremonies; troubleshot and resolve defects with design improvement and enhanced code quality; manage releases and builds using Electric Commander or similar tools over multiple pipelines with version tracking and continuous integration tools; utilize Object Oriented Programming and programming languages for creating business logic; responsible for all SDLC stages in an Agile methodology; create UI components using front end technologies; develop RESTful webservices using Spring based frameworks and Hibernate; develop backend components & services; write POJO classes for database mapping and DAO layers to perform CRUD operations.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 4 years of experience in the job offered or as a software engineer/developer, computer systems engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 4 years with object-oriented programming, including creation of POJO’s and CRUD operations, unit testing, AWS programming using Lambda or similar languages, connecting API’s via security protocols such as Ping, and using RESTful Web Service development and tools such as Spring and Hibernate; and 3 years in Agile software development life cycle, user story writing, automated build and deployment, working on payment systems and handling payment failures and error scenarios with PCI standards. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
