Role Summary
This role is focusing on supporting a DevOps team within an engineering organization comprising 200+ engineers. The incumbent will play a crucial role in contributing to the delivery of security product updates, impacting over 100,000 customers globally. The primary responsibilities include supporting the existing DevOps infrastructure and collaborating with the team to improve and optimize processes. This position offers a pathway for professional growth and skill development.
What you will do
- Maintain and enhance existing on-premisebuild and relese framework which uses Git, Jenkins, GNU make
- Identify & integrate open-source or 3rd party build and developer tools with existing systems to enable engineering teams to work more efficiently.
- Contribute to the design & development of resilient CI/CD pipelines for Sophos NSG products
- Respond to events and troubleshoot/resolve operational issues.
- Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Troubleshoot issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and automation scripts.
- Research and recommend new tools and technologies to improve the efficiency of DevOps processes; Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
What you will bring
- Bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field with a minimum of 4-7 years prior relevant experience.
- Strong Build & Release experience using Git, Jenkins, Makefiles,
- Strong Experience in scripting using Bash shell and Python.
- Strong experience designing, troubleshooting, or working on CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient in Release Engineering methods on Git using Github Flow, GitFlow or customized GitFlow, and related tools.
- Gitflowbest practices (branching strategies)
- Experience working with tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, SonarQube, Artifactory and Terraform
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability Tools: Grafana, ElasticSearch, Splunk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
