What We Do

The Ecosystem Engineering team is a horizontal team of strategically deployed engineers that live at the intersection of business, technology, and innovation in the Solana ecosystem. We support teams small and large by providing technical guidance, architecture review, and maximize our leverage by driving adoption of technical public goods through code and coordination.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a technical lead to drive the adoption of standards and specifications for the Solana payments & Commerce ecosystem. This role will also focus on assisting teams in implementing new capabilities while helping them achieve their business goals.

To be successful in this role

You will be:

• Driving new standards and specifications for payment protocols and integrations

• Supporting ecosystem teams as they adopt new standards: you will be the technical point-of-contact for payment teams and integrators

• Interfacing with payment processors: you will be collaborating directly with prospective clients and leading integration of payment processors using Solana capabilities into their systems

• Communicate with external clients to help them realize the technical improvements that can be made when building on Solana

• Interfacing with developers: you will be collaborating directly with developers building on Solana to provide architecture review, collect their feedback, and inform on protocol development
  

You ideally have:

• 5+ years working in fintech-, financial services, payments, and / or e-commerce-focused teams operating at scale

• Experience building an OMS or ledger related to accounting or payment reconciliation

• Deep understanding of industry-standard payments flows

• 5+ years of experience working on product-focused engineering teams 

• Extensive experience designing and operating APIs

• A deep interest in the impact of blockchain technologies

Bonus points:

• Experience building payment orchestration systems

• An understanding of core payment protocols (MT103, MT104, ISO8583)

• Experience working with the Solana protocol

• Experience contributing to open-source projects

• Experience as a CTO, Founding Engineer, or Engineering lead

• An entrepreneurial spirit and appetite to problem-solve

• An interest in improving Developer Experience (DevEx)

• Expertise in the Payments and/or Commerce domain
