Senior Manager Software Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our Cloud Infrastructure team who is passionate about delivering solutions for the platform that powers SoFi. This is a high impact role to build the cloud infrastructure and key platform services at SoFi. You will lead a team building and operating our cloud infrastructure to take SoFi to the next level. You will have opportunities to make a significant immediate impact on the success of the company while growing the team and members of the team.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide strategic leadership in the planning and execution of cloud infrastructure initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a team of software and cloud engineers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the cloud infrastructure teams.
• Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high performance cloud solutions.
• Define and communicate team objectives, set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
• Identify skill gaps within the team and coordinate training programs to enhance technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and create project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Allocate resources effectively, manage project priorities, and resolve conflicts to ensure efficient project execution.
• Track and report project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the software development process.
• Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, promoting effective communication, coordination, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and execute strategies that drive operational excellence and improve software development practices.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools.
• 6+ years of proven experience as a Software Development Manager or similar technical leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and leading software development teams, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve high performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
