Manager, IT Engineering

We’re looking for a strong Engineering Manager to build application platforms leveraging snowflake technologies.  In this role, you will work closely with many cross-functional teams across Snowflake to innovate and build new products. This is a strategic, high-impact role that will also help shape the future of Snowflake products and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Providing inspiration and guidance to the growing team; fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and innovation.
• Lead and drive projects from idea formulation, to design, and to implementation.
• Drive great partnership with the cross-functional teams
• Grow and build a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring as well mentoring and coaching.
• Architect & build full stack web applications using Snowflake 
• Manage and improve the reliability of enterprise services. 
• Manage Speed vs Quality when executing feature development. 
• Build applications with great user experience 
• Foster collaboration among engineering, security compliance, IT & other business groups to ensure data is secure and audit-able. 
• Train distributed team members in data pipelines. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

• 12+ years of experience in building & managing enterprise software systems 4+ years of experience in managing and leading teams to build software systems.
• Understands SDLC well and follows the devops principles like CI/CD solutions for faster delivery. 
• Has worked with managing Software systems that are part of SOX Compliance. 
• Strong development experience in cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Strong experience in building custom applications using Kotlin/Java/.Net/Python etc. ( Java preferred)
• Experience with modern UI frameworks like React.js /Angular/Vue.js .
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Strong hands-on skills. Can drill deep into the complex system design and implementation when needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s / Master in Computer Science and/or Engineering is preferred.
• 9+ years of work experience out of which at least 2 years should be in managing the projects. 
• 2+ years of experience as a People Leader managing small to midsize teams.
• Good leadership experience and strong teaming abilities
• Experience working with a Global team ( US & India). 
• Knowledge & experience of Snowflake, SnowPark and related technologies is a big plus.
• Technical skills: Java/J2EE, Python, .Net, Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Database (MySQL, Postgresql, Oracle)
