Senior Software Engineer, Platform - Streamlit

Streamlit is an open-source Python library that makes it easy to create and share beautiful, custom web apps for machine learning and data science. At Snowflake, we are building Streamlit Community Cloud, a platform for folks to share Streamlit apps with the world. We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise at the platform and system level as we scale for the next phase of growth. 

AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, PLATFORM FOR THE STREAMLIT TEAM, YOU WILL: 

• Reinvent the way we orchestrate Streamlit apps with scale, performance, and cost in mind.
• Work cross-functionally with multiple product, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Ensure system reliability and monitoring best practices. 
• Participate in on-call rotation and ensure uptime of services.
• Design reliable, performant, and high-quality systems.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• 8+ years hands-on software development experience or equivalent SRE experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Go.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
• Experience in deploying, managing, and operating scalable and fault tolerant Linux infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with one of more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with virtualization and container technologies, networking and storage layers.
• Knowledgeable of security and able to work with security partners collaboratively.
• Ability to dive into the application layer as needed.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Experience with logging, monitoring systems, and SLI/SLO frameworks.
• Experience with open source is a plus.
