Senior Software Engineer - Differential Privacy

We’re hiring a Sr. Software Engineer to join our team in San Mateo, CA to build Differential Privacy into the Data Cloud.

You’ll join a talented, collaborative team of engineers with a track record of bringing Differential Privacy and other privacy-preserving technologies from theory to practice. You will engage deeply with the latest research, and work closely with your colleagues to apply it to unlock the promise of the Data Cloud. You will be joining early in our journey, and you will have a real opportunity to impact and shape the future of privacy-preserving technologies and analytics at Snowflake.

• Be at the forefront of bringing Differential Privacy to the Data Cloud.
• Work closely with PMs to drive projects from idea formulation to design and implementation.
• Drive high impact initiatives across research, design, and implementation of Differential Privacy at Snowflake.
• Build high quality, robust production systems at global scale.
• Be a strong contributor to the product vision.
• Foster a warm, supportive culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.

AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER -  DIFFERENTIAL PRIVACY, YOU HAVE:

• A PhD in Differential Privacy or related privacy-preserving technologies, or equivalent experience working in industry on Differential Privacy implementations.
• At least 3 years of experience delivering high quality production software.
• A strong background in statistics and data analytics.
• A passion for bringing theory to practice and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have a track record of explaining difficult technical concepts and trade-offs to non-experts.
• Knowledge of Haskell, Java, and database internals/distributed systems is a plus.
