We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Core Client Frameworks team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

• Develop and evolve core frameworks for Snapchat mobile application, including Dependency Injection, Storage, infrastructure for data exchange between the server and client, and more

• Optimize performance and scalability of the mobile codebase by organizing into modules and enforcing module rules

• Ensure reliable, consistent, and performant frameworks that serve as building blocks for product teams.

• Support an up-to-date tech stack and feature set across our frameworks to help partner teams deliver on company goals

• Develop guidelines and best practices for product engineers to streamline development process, promote code health and sustainability

• Support mobile community by addressing questions, responding to feature requests, code reviews

• In collaboration with partner teams, carefully evaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision

• Convey complex technical solutions to diverse set of people, get buy-ins

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on common goals

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience creating code generation solutions with Python to automate boilerplate code and increase developer efficiency

• Experience with cross-platform development in C/C++

• Experience upgrading SDKs, libraries, and other dependencies across a large-scale codebase

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics or equivalent years of experience

• 7+ years of experience in developing mobile applications for iOS and cross-platform

• Knowledge of the cross language bindings / middleware such C++ to Typescript

• Cross platform development in C/C++

• Experience with Buck and Bazel build systems as a developer and consumer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills

• Advanced experience with Dependency Injections frameworks, their strength and weaknesses, internal architecture

• Familiarity with tools and frameworks used for building and managing modular codebases, module dependency graph optimization

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $202,000-$303,000 annually.

 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $192,000-$288,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $172,000-$257,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
