About The Role
Samsung SmartThings is seeking a Senior Platform Product Manager to define and drive the next evolution of our SmartThings platform. You will play a key role in defining the strategic direction of our platform and driving its evolution to meet the ever-changing needs of our diverse, global customers and partners. This role requires strong relationships and collaboration across our global, cross-functional teams including Samsung HQ stakeholders in South Korea.

As Senior Product Manager, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams as you manage the product development lifecycle for various user products. This is an important and strategic role within the company that requires not only product thinking but technical business acumen to deliver the maximum strategic impact, as the roadmap you define and help execute will be fundamental to providing a world-class user experience.

As an ideal candidate, you have a product management track record and technical acumen to closely work with our engineering teams. You have the ability to bridge business and technical considerations that result in innovative and compelling solutions for customers and partners alike. You are data driven and get into the details, performing market analyses, and examining usage patterns to evolve existing services and propose new features. 

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision, Strategy and Roadmap
  • Drive the development of a comprehensive platform strategy and roadmap, aligned with the company's overall vision and business objectives
  • Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on platform priorities leading to product execution
  • Define and prioritize platform product initiatives in partnership with global engineering, product and business teams, and executive stakeholders
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights and leverage customer and developer feedback to shape the platform strategy and roadmap
Product Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee the product lifecycle, from discovery to launch and ongoing optimization, delivering the right products at the right time
  • Drive the development of business cases, requirements, market analysis, and user research to validate product opportunities and identify customer pain points
  • Collaborate with engineers to overcome roadblocks and evaluate trade-offs when appropriate  
  • Make data-driven decisions, incorporating analytics and user feedback to continuously improve platform features and user experiences
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor the success of the platform's features and products to incorporate findings into the product development process and partnership conversations.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Understand and incorporate requirements and feedback from internal and external stakeholders, including executives, business partners, developers and customers
  • Effectively communicate product strategy, roadmap, and updates to partner teams, executive leadership and global stakeholdersCommunicate product plans, benefits, and results to all audiences in formal presentations at the team and organization level
  • Develop go-to-market strategies and collaborate with business development and marketing teams to support product launches with impactful messaging and positioning

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Minneapolis is expected to be between $119,744 and $179,616
