Description
Simulmedia is seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Lead, Infrastructure to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. In this senior role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and maintenance of our infrastructure and deployment processes. You will be a hands-on leader, driving the adoption of new tools and paradigms, and ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability of our technology stack. This role requires a strong ability to coach and manage junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

This position is located in Lviv, Ukraine. The core team is located in Lviv and primarily works remotely with occasional team meetings in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

      Strategic Infrastructure Leadership:
      Develop and implement a strategic vision for our infrastructure, considering new tools, technologies, and paradigms to enhance our systems.
      Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our DevOps practices, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
      Team Management and Coaching:
      Coach and manage junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship to foster their professional growth.
      Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
      Collaboration and Optimization:
      Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of infrastructure solutions.
      Continuously optimize infrastructure and resource usage for performance, cost-effectiveness, and security.
      Monitoring and Security:
      Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and respond to system issues.
      Ensure data protection and compliance with relevant regulations by implementing security best practices and compliance measures.

Qualifications:

      Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
      6+ years of professional work experience in infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record of strategic leadership in infrastructure and DevOps.
      Strong hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing infrastructure using technologies such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
      Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
      Strong understanding of software engineering principles, best practices, and security measures.
      Experience in multiple programming languages, with proficiency in Python and familiarity with Ruby, Go, and JavaScript.
      Ability to communicate effectively with U.S-based teams and work 11 am - 8 pm EEST.
Bonus Points for:
      Advanced certifications in cloud infrastructure (especially AWS).
      Deep understanding of DevOps and SRE philosophy.
      Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration.
Our Tech Stack:
      Primarily AWS for cloud services.
      Languages: Python, Ruby, and Go.
      Databases: Postgres and Redshift.
