About the role

Shopify is in hyper-growth, building the tools and experiences for some of the biggest brands in the world, and our Partner Solutions Engineering team is front and center in making that happen. We give high growth, high volume merchants the scalability, reliability and flexibility they need. This is where you come in…as a Partner Solutions Engineer, you will work alongside our Partners (ISV, SI, Agency, and/or Agency Holding Companies) to design and deliver high impact solutions to our mutual customers.

The Partner Solutions Engineer is responsible for working alongside our Partners and agencies to design and deliver high impact solutions to our mutual customers. This will be delivered through engagements focussing on recruitment of new partners and onboarding partners in remote & IRL environments. You will lead joint demonstrations and enable our Partners to show how enterprise customers can accelerate the growth of their business with Shopify. 

You will break down technical barriers so our Partners can offer more effective services around our platform for high growth, high volume merchants, leading to faster revenue growth. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships and be seen as a trusted advisor to Partners you engage with. Specifically their technical and sales teams, enabling high level solutions-focused discussions around the Shopify platform, their technology stack and their businesses overall goal.

As a Partner Solutions Engineer you’ll make an impact by:

  • Collaborating with Partners to understand how to identify opportunities and scope projects

  • Mentoring our Partners on guiding enterprise clients through requirements discovery and strategic consulting sessions

  • Creating customized product demos and proof of concepts for use during on-site or virtual client demonstrations in conjunction with our Partners 

  • Engaging with Shopify and Partner Solution Architects to design technical solutions for large enterprise customers with many different technologies and platforms

  • Becoming an expert on Shopify’s application ecosystem and integrations

  • Working closely with Partners (ISV, SI, Agency, and/or Agency Holding Companies) to create differentiated solutions

  • Aligning with Product and RnD teams on future roadmaps and sharing feedback on released features and client trends

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with enterprise commerce customers in D2C, Retail and B2B as a Sales/Solutions Engineer or Solution Architect.

  • Solid understanding of Cloud-based technologies and SaaS fundamentals

  • Deep understanding of technical strategy as it relates to operating and growing commerce businesses

  • Experience working with and understanding Agencies and Partners is preferred

  • Hands-on skills of Frontend Web development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Liquid)

  • Strong understanding of headless commerce and composable architecture

  • Strong API knowledge (REST and GraphQL) for enterprise integrations.

  • Great troubleshooting and analytical skills combined with the desire to tackle challenges head-on

  • A powerful video conference presence with confidence handling executive-level conversations

  • You have the ability to prioritize competing demands and goals.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity.
