Purpose   

We are looking for a talented Operations Engineer (specializing in DevOps and/or SRE) who can help us continue to grow our infrastructure of 12-factor microservices. Your task is to create a scalable and performant operational environment for running business-critical infrastructure.

You would make a great addition to our team if you’re highly motivated, equally comfortable working individually or as part of a team, and driven to deliver value.

Summary  

• Strong experience with cloud service providers, particularly AWS and GCP, but Azure is a plus
• Strong experience with cloud monitoring technologies such as ELK stack, CloudWatch, and other SaaS-based providers
• Vast experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar
• Vast experience with build tools such as Jenkins, SBT, Maven, and Gradle, including ground up implementation
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles
• Solid understanding of Docker containers
• Solid understanding of microservice architecture
• Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
• Solid understanding of network/cloud/service security
• Demonstrable skills in at least one of these scripting / programming languages: Bash, Python, or similar
• Knowledge of SQL, and no-SQL databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar
• Knowledge of software version control systems such as Git (GitHub/Gitlab)
• Knowledge and experience in implementing push button deployment at scale with zero downtime
• Experience with on-call rotation for mission critical services and support
• Experience with container orchestration framework and resource schedulers such as Kubernetes, Mesosphere DC/OS, or similar

Great to have

• Experience with credential storage systems such as Hashicorp Vault
• Experience working on large and complex projects
• Experience working as part of a globally distributed team
• Experience working in a start-up environment with little or no hand-holding
• Experience with Cassandra and/or Protocol Buffers is a plus
