Senior Design Engineering Manager, Robotics Advanced Development 

Summary of Position:

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineering Manager to join our Robotics Advanced Development team. This role will help us build a new generation of innovative products for the Shark Robotics brand. We thrive on designing and manufacturing great products that delight our customers. Working as part of our Advanced Development team, you will bring inspiration, creativity, and technical know-how to our development efforts to deliver credible solutions to populate our product roadmap.

Role Functions:

• ·Mechanical and Electromechanical Engineering Expertise: Deep knowledge in designing and developing household cleaning robots.
• ·Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• ·Intellectual Property Management: Experience in managing, investigating, and strategizing around intellectual property, including keeping abreast of competitors’ activities.
• ·Consumer-Centric Product Development: Strong focus on aligning product development with consumer needs and market trends, regularly validating ideas through consumer feedback.
• ·Proof of Concept Development: Skilled in creating and utilizing proofs of concept to demonstrate technological feasibilities and guide long-term project trajectories.
• Technology Integration: Ability to identify critical technologies for successful product integration, particularly in plastics design and electronics.
•  Proactive Problem Solving: Encourages a hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving within the team, emphasizing practical demonstration and verification of ideas.
•  Communication Skills: Effective communicator, capable of maintaining frequent interactions with the team through regular stand-ups and meetings to ensure alignment and progress.

Requirements:

• · Education Level: Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design Engineering.
• · Inspirational leader with proven ability and experience managing and leading cross functional teams.
• · Approximately 5-10 years proven experience in Mechanical/ Product Design/ Engineering environment.
• · Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space desirable. Experience in robotic cleaning appliances a plus.
• · Experience of delivering real world products to market
• · Ability to use SolidWorks and/or Creo CAD package(s) to a high level.
• · Ability and drive to identify, solve, implement, and verify user and technical solutions.
• · Work samples that showcase consumer problems solved with applied design process.
• · “Hands-on” - building of prototypes, product testing in the lab, developing and reporting, from early mock-ups to fully functional integrated prototypes.
• · Flexible and collaborative- these are key to success at SharkNinja.
• · Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature.
• · Appreciation for electrical engineering, Arduino, C++, software and UX design helpful but not essential.
