Job Description

The Platform Security Business teams are responsible for overseeing revenue-generating security products that enhance customer experiences by extending core security mechanisms within the platform's framework. The Data Encryption team operates under the umbrella of the Platform Security Business, utilizing fundamental cryptography principles to craft a range of innovative products. Noteworthy among these offerings are Code Signing, Cloud Encryption, and Column Level Encryption Enterprise, each serving distinct security purposes.

Code Signing facilitates essential workflows and APIs, establishing a web of trust among various components of the ServiceNow ecosystem. Our Cloud Encryption solution stands as a sentinel for data at rest, ensuring comprehensive encryption for all forms of customer data, SQL-based or otherwise. The keys to this encryption are placed firmly in the hands of our customers, who exercise full control over their lifecycle. Our revenue-oriented approach drives us to consistently engineer cutting-edge security capabilities.

Presently, we are seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineering to join our ranks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in crafting data security features for cloud-based services. The goal is to achieve enterprise-level quality while adhering to our meticulously planned product roadmap.

What you get to do in this role:

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality products to our users. Provide input and feedback on the product roadmap.
• Implement security features that are simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific security needs.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new security products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite.
• Be a mentor for colleagues, along with helping them to promote best engineering practices and knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• 8-13 years of experience with technologies similar/relevant to ServiceNow and with a track record of releasing high-quality enterprise products.
• Experience with open-source tools and agile development environments.
• Fluency in Java / Javascript programming language.
• Ability to understand broad concepts and use those concepts to understand and develop solutions for complex problems.
• Experience completing projects based on company priorities, context, risks, and desired outcomes.
• Ability to understand and implement best practices and coding standards about role-specific requirements (e.g., programming languages and tools, network design, functional design, algorithms, patterns, design, and development, etc.).

Must have:

• 10+ years of coding experience in Java / Javascript.
• Experience and background in data security, and data encryption technologies.
• Architect design and implement end-to-end software, demonstrating expertise in the backend.
• Experience in designing, implement and maintaining high quality software.
• Experience code review coding standards best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt technology and industry best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
