About The Role

As a Platform Tech Lead at Sensi.AI, you will lead the design, architecture, and development of backend services that power AI-driven applications. This role combines deep backend expertise with hands-on integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and 3rd party AI services into production. You’ll have a direct impact on shaping our AI-powered product capabilities, driving technical decisions, and mentoring the team to deliver scalable, high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of backend services for AI-driven applications, focusing on LLM integration and 3rd party services.
• Architect and engineer prompts for various AI models, including LLMs, optimizing performance and relevance for production use.
• Own and drive the integration of AI models into scalable, production-grade systems, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with AI, Product, and Data teams to define and deliver backend solutions aligned with business and product goals.
• Mentor and guide the development team, setting best practices for backend development, code quality, and technical decision-making.
• Research and evaluate new AI models, tools, and external services, leading their adoption into production environments.

• Experienced Backend Tech Lead: 6+ years of backend or software engineering experience, with at least 2 years as a tech lead. Proven ability to design and build distributed systems at scale, with strong ownership of technical decisions and architecture.
• AI & LLM Integration: Hands-on experience integrating AI models (especially LLMs) into production systems, or deep familiarity with AI/NLP concepts and a strong desire to lead LLM-driven projects. Architecting and engineering prompts for AI models — an advantage.
• Backend & Cloud Expertise: Proficiency in Python, Java, or similar. Solid experience with AWS (or equivalent cloud), microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and messaging systems like Kafka/SQS.
• Data-Driven Mindset: Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and designing systems that handle large-scale data flows.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to mentor and guide developers, set best practices, and collaborate effectively with AI, Product, and Data teams.
• Familiarity with AI ecosystem: Understanding of different AI models (LLMs and beyond), their capabilities (e.g., text generation, code completion) — an advantage.
