The Role:

  1. Data Infrastructure Development:
    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements, ensuring the proper collection, transformation, and storage of structured and unstructured data.
    • Implement and optimize data architecture, data models, and schemas to support analytical and reporting needs.
  2. Data Quality and Governance:
    • Establish and enforce data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the data ecosystem.
    • Implement and maintain data governance policies and procedures, including data privacy, security, and compliance measures.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data quality monitoring and validation processes.
  3. Performance Optimization and Scalability:
    • Identify opportunities to optimize data processing and storage infrastructure, improving overall system performance and efficiency.
    • Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance data engineering capabilities and support future growth.
    • Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data platforms and systems.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that support their objectives.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Foster effective cross-functional partnerships, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.

You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, including designing and implementing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data infrastructure.
  • Proficient in data engineering technologies and tools such as SQL, Python, ETL frameworks and platforms (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, Fivetran, Segment), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), and cloud data-warehousing (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and database technologies.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data privacy best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data engineering challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The annual pay range for this full-time position is $110k-$140k + equity + benefits across all US locations (this position is 100% remote-US). Our pay ranges are guided by discipline, level and experience required. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including: your specific location, desired skills/ technical competency, relevant experience and advanced education/ training.
