Backend Engineer

As the Engineering team we own all the technology within Secfi. We organize in chapters based on discipline where all members help each other with personal and professional growth. Each chapter has a lead responsible for 1-1s, career growth planning, hiring and chapter culture. Engineers from different chapters, together with product managers and designers, form squads to work on different areas of our products. 

An engineering first culture enables us, the engineers, to be involved in the product development from the early definition stages and collaborate closely with product managers and designers for building it. Because owning the technology within the company also means working in an ever-evolving space that isn’t limited to building new products or features, we created "communities of practice", where those interested in a specific topic are encouraged to collaborate and work on it.

We are looking for a talented Backend Engineer (preferred Python) to join us in Amsterdam, who can help us build our next generation of products and be involved in the continuous development of our systems. You’ll be responsible for building core services and essential business systems, reusable libraries and contributing to building future proof and scalable applications. 

You’ll be part of a growing team that likes to innovate and constantly improve. We  believe that when choosing the right tool for the job it’s also important to consider who is going to use it, every engineer has a voice and has a say in the decisions that are made.  As a result our stack is evolving from Django w/ Django DRF & Django ORM towards FastAPI w/ SQLAlchemy & pydantic. Our BE systems stack includes, and it is not limited to: GraphQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Elastic. 

Last but not least, we are open to engineers from other backgrounds, but strong experience of building web-based applications is a must.
