WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As Retail & Commercial CTO, youā€™ll play a key role in the technological transformation in the Group, driving change towards a common goal.

You Ģll be working on the SMEs Tech Hub, designing and supporting the future global platforms to better serve these customers throughout Santander countries.

You will work to design and support development and deployment of best-in-class IT solutions for our Retail & Commercial business, the main business in Santander Group. Those IT solutions are to be deployed in all Group banks, helping cost efficiency, improving the time-to-market of services for our customers and having first class IT capabilities to enable the business.

Ensuring the quality, security, Group Santander standards alignment, and a fit-for-future Retail & Commercial architecture in the IT solutions, are key within the CTO's role. Leading a strong solution design governance process and bringing all stakeholders (local, platform, global) together, is a must.

Faced towards a long-term strategy, you will be an agent of change with a continuous improvement vision, leading, coordinating, and taking part in the definition of the Group strategy and the technological foundations for our digital transformation.

You will be responsible for ensuring alignment between the global IT strategy, Retail & Commercial strategy and Group banksā€™ needs and roadmaps.

We need someone like you to:

  • Build a skilled, high-performing team committed to the Retail & Commercial T&O strategy and the Groupā€™s IT strategy. It is paramount to build a best performing team of IT solution architects to cover the E2E design process of IT solutions.
  • Design and support the development of best-in-class Retail & Commercial IT solutions, leveraging on Santander Group global available capabilities and being compliant with Santander Group policies.
  • Actively collaborate with Group banksā€™ CTOs in the implementation of Retail & Commercial IT solutions across the different banks.
  • Support convergence of Group banksā€™ IT landscape towards Retail & Commercial IT strategy, working closely with Group banksā€™ CTOs.
  • Have a deep understanding of Santander Group global IT capabilities to ensure usage and adoption by Retail & Commercial IT teams, fostering the sense of commonality and belonging to one global team.
  • Participate in the development of the Santander Group global strategy, working hand by hand with the Global CTO.
  • Request, manage and monitor annual and quarterly budgets for his/her team, aligned with the Retail & Commercial IT strategy.
  • Discover new technologies, and contribute with ideas, that could generate competitive advantage.

REQUIREMENTS

Education, Training and Previous Experience

  • Proven experience and success in senior technology leadership role.

  • Proven success in leading digital and cultural transformations within organizations.

  • Desired experience in Retail & Commercial positions or large projects.

  • Degree in technology-related field such as science or engineering.

  • Complementary degree (master or equivalent) in business administration or strategy.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate technical content to nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels, ranging from board members to specialists.

  • Strategic leader and builder of both vision and bridges, and able to energize the appropriate teams in the organization.

  • Ability to lead and motivate the technology architecture team to achieve tactical and strategic goals.

  • Proven experience and knowledge leading projects and teams in the following areas:

  • Cloud (public and private)

  • Data platforms

  • Software development transformation and DevOps

  • APIs and platform-oriented environments

  • Key banking areas (payments, channels, core banking systems, ...)

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as

    well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall

    objectives.

  • Project management skills: financial/budget management, scheduling, and resource

    management.

  • A master of influencing decisions when achieving a desirable outcome is vital.

  • High level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
