The role of the European Marketing team is to make the Samsung brand and products desirable. Our remit stretches from brand, marketing, PR to Samsung.com, CRM, social media and retail.

The aim is to support the vision and strategy for Samsung’s global launch marketing for Samsung European regions. Which will involve facilitating our 16 European Markets’ local plans, support and influence launch marketing strategy for Mobile and oversee the Go To Market (GTM) process implementation across Europe, for our newly launched products.

You will inspire HQ, EU marketers and a team of very hardworking individuals at EO marketing.

This role directly influences the performance and reputation of the EO Brand, & GTM team, which operates at the heart of the Marketing function. The team is focused on 6 key areas:

  • Challenge convention and pioneer GTM success for both local markets and our regional office. This will be achieved by influencing & shaping HQ marketing strategy, creative approach and driving consistency of execution across our Smartphone, & mobile ecosystem products (e.g. watches, buds, tablets etc) You will need to constantly track progress to ensure campaign execution & deployment is aligned to the strategy. Pre-empt and address potential issues, and support markets with local implementation.

  • Articulate and represent a European vision to collaborators in the global team - Develop a good grasp of the European market, as well as individual subsidiaries, by working closely with them and the insights team. Ensure the European agenda is well represented in global discussions and we prove progress to our European markets. This includes building a good network and relationships with key partners in both Europe and Korea and maintaining them through constant interaction, sharing and feedback sessions.

  • Develop EO-led campaigns & initiatives  to complement and enhance the global strategy and drive increased relevancy for European/UK markets.

  • Facilitate the execution of a One Samsung strategy (cross-product comms) across B2C and B2B channels. This spans from inspiring and supporting critical thinking through to the execution of integrated propositions and experiences across channels, business verticals, category propositions, and internal functions.

  • Local governance – Build strong relationships with markets, which will foster in-depth knowledge of markets’ plans and local activations. Ensure all local market activities follow standard approval procedure and brand guidelines.

  • Postmortem monitoring and reporting – develop a campaign implementation plan in cooperation with the markets and report European readiness. Monitor and evaluate localisation of the Global/European campaigns and support local markets in optimising their activity. The role will analyse standard process and transfer the knowledge and findings to all European markets and to HQ.

This role reports directly into the Head of MX GTM. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the European MX GTM function. You will support the Head of MX GTM in strategy development, GTM process optimisation, and collaborator engagement to implement the EO GTM action plan through subsidiaries.

Your starting point in this role is to enhance the global strategy and optimise the application for Europe. You will need to apply a deep comprehension of the globally-defined propositions to regional consumer needs and develop value add solutions to support subsidiary execution through communication and sales channels.

  • Experience with a proven track record of delivering complex campaigns, across the European/UK region channels.

  • Is a natural networker, able to build positive relationships and to align diverse viewpoints

  • Has excellent project management and communication skills

  • Knowledge of the mobile market would be an advantage.

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Aiming for Results – being committed to driving initiatives forward and achieving clear outcomes. You will need to be an efficient project manager, identifying potential roadblocks and proactively findings solutions and opportunities to deliver timely launch and sustain campaigns.

  • Navigating Organisations –able to challenge and influence partners from various teams and different leadership levels. You will need to be a people-person, building bridges, driving alignments and creating solid relationships at both European and HQ levels.

  • Creative & Business Intelligence – commercially astute with the ability to grasp business goals and formulate creative solutions to meet those goals. You will need to have previous experience in managing integrated marketing plans and campaigns.

  • Formulating succinct requests - ability to summarise complex information in a succinct and efficient manner to drive desired actions. You will need to use your influence to get information from various team members and then harmonise often conflicting viewpoints in concise viewpoints or presentations.

What does success look like?

  • Development and management of a robust GTM process that supports the end-to-end process from pre-launch planning to sales sustain execution.

  • Effective use of consumer focused insights and market intelligence to ensure globally-developed campaigns are optimised to meet EU/UK needs.

  • Drive pan-EU efficiencies of campaign execution through the coordination of regional implementation and adaption of locally developed initiatives

  • A tangible contribution to the in-market execution of the Mobile proposition across Europe by developing regional solutions through collaboration with the EO marketing functions (Digital, Platform, PR, Retail, etc.)

  • Consistency of campaign execution across the EU/UK region.

  • Monitor campaign implementation and results to deliver insightful campaign reports, identify standard process cases and support roll out across EU subs.

  • Insightful post-mortem to drive learning and continuous improvement in the delivery of future launch and sustain campaigns and initiatives.

  • The successful candidate will most likely be a consumer marketing professional with experience in brand, operating with a strong understanding of product marketing and have proven experience in delivering both ATL and BTL campaigns.
