SambaNova is hiring a Senior Principal Signal Integrity Engineer to review pre-layout high-speed signal paths and perform simulation and validation of the signals to ensure optimal performance within process and manufacturing variations.

Responsibilities

• Perform signal integrity analysis for board design and architectural trade-off evaluation.
• Model high-speed I/O's on PCBs, packages, connectors with respect to parameters such as eye diagrams, reflections, bandwidth, and crosstalk.
• Create and execute signal/power integrity simulation plans.
• Support the debugging of any subsequent issues over the life of the product.
• Interact with cross-functional teams like silicon circuit design, package design, board design, board fabricators, etc., for ensuring the proper implementation of high speed interfaces such as DDR5, PCIe, SATA/SAS, Ethernet, and system signal integrity for clocks and power.
• Create test plans and perform tests to correlate to extracted signal integrity models.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of related industry experience.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated industry work proficiency in tools: HSPICE, HFSS, ADS or other circuit simulation tools.
• Familiar with board design tools like Allegro.
• Demonstrated proficiency with high-speed test equipment like TDR, VNA, oscilloscopes and bus analyzers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understand high-speed I/O circuit designs and their models.
• Diligent with hard-to-model correlation.
• Up-to-speed with the latest high-speed I/O connectors.
• Familiar with power integrity.

Annual Salary Range and Level

The base salary for this position ranges from $165,000/year up to $210,000/year. This range is based on role, level, and location and reflects the salary target for new hires in the US. Individual pay within the range will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s job-related qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
