Platform Engineering plays a crucial role in the Availability/Infrastructure Engineering organization, empowering development teams to easily assess product availability, promptly detect system disruptions and provide actionable insights into customer impact. This team owns platforms that support all key pillars of observability, reliability and availability. We create abstraction layers to simplify service ownership complexities and collaborate with development teams on cross-cutting initiatives to deliver dependable, high-performing systems and experiences for our customers.

We are seeking Principal Software Engineer/Architect with extensive experience in building and managing platforms, distributed services, capable of driving significant portions of our vision on various projects. You’ll be challenged to blend customer-centric principles, industry-changing innovation, and the reliable delivery of new technologies. You will work directly with engineering, product, and design, to simplify complexities and deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive Technical Strategy and Vision: Contribute to the strategic planning and vision for the product's technical roadmap. Work closely with leadership to align technical initiatives with business objectives

• System Design & Architecture: Design, build, test and deliver highly scalable software engineering and AI based solutions to ensure best-in-class availability for our customers

• Be accountable for defining and driving software architecture with critical capabilities (scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, maintainability, etc)

• Participate and contribute to architecture, code, security and operational reviews and provide technical guidance as needed

• Understand the customer/business requirements and translate them to flexible/easy-to-use platform capabilities

• Expert Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking Skills: Skilled in solving complex technical issues and providing strategic solutions

• Passionate, curious, creative, self-starter and approach problems with right methodology and intelligent decisions.

• Proven experience providing mentorship, technical leadership, and guidance to team members.

• Collaborate with stakeholder teams in global time zones(or across different geographical locations) and participate in the team's on-call rotation to keep services operational and highly available.

Required Skills/Experiences

• A related technical degree required

• 10+ years of hands on software development experience

• Highly Proficient in managing the entire software development lifecycle within dynamic, fast-paced, ambiguous and highly adaptable environments

• Expertise in designing complex, distributed systems with high reliability and performance

• Significant expertise in Python, with working knowledge of Java and/or Go-lang

• Running critical infrastructure services at scale; Building secure and highly available services in the public cloud. Experience with cloud deployment technologies like Jenkins or Spinnaker, Terraform and Kubernetes

• Experience in AI/ML Models and Architectures, predictive and generative AI technologies

• Extensive experience in contributing to open source code base.

• Demonstrated passion, ability, a willingness to¯ learn quickly and a mindset to make a difference. You are an effective communicator and work equally well in a team or by yourself. You get stuff done!
