Senior Software Engineer, Foundation

We have multiple Principal and Senior engineer openings. As a part of Infrastructure Foundation Software team you will drive the evolution and revolution of Roblox foundation tooling system to manage millions of private and public infrastructure resources to support hundreds of millions of users every month. You will define, test, monitor, and write tools to run our infrastructure while driving down the TCO.

You will:

• Design & develop systems for infrastructure cost metering, attribution, analytics and management
• Build performance tooling & generate recommendations to improve our infrastructure efficiency
• Design & develop systems to support infrastructure capacity planning
• Improve operational & analytical systems for data center planning and operations

You have:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, or another technical field.
• 6+ years of experience building containerized systems and microservices and shipping high-quality products to production.
• 6+ years of experience building REST or gRPC or GraphQL-based APIs with Python, Go, C#, or Java.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL/NewSQL databases.
• Experience working with caching solutions such as Memcached, Redis, or similar technologies.
• Technical leadership: You have initiated and facilitated challenging technical solutions. Your technical expertise influences product direction and you foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Passion for building products for internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge in on-premise data center or cloud capacity & cost management is a plus.
• Experience building data pipelines with Kafka, Flink, Hive, Presto, Spark, Hadoop, data warehouse or other data engineering technologies is a plus.
• Experience building web apps using a JavaScript framework such as React, AngularJS, or Vue.js is a plus.
