The Notifications Team at Roblox is building the next generation notifications platform to allow our teams and developers to easily build respectful and helpful notification experiences for our users. These notifications include Push, In-App/In-Experience, Messages, Email, and SMS - basically any way a user is contacted both on-platform and off-platform. The mission of our team is to connect the right user, to the right content, at the right time. Whether it's a new update from a user's favorite experience, or a friend invitation to co-play, we make sure that the notifications that are being delivered are what the user wants to see, and when they should receive it.

You Will:

  • Report to the Engineering Manager on the Notifications Team.
  • Lead the backend development for our Notifications Platform, building functionality to grow to our millions of users through our delivery channels.
  • Ensure that our platform is scalable and providing the best possible user experience.
  • Help build our Core Pipeline, making sure we can deliver notifications to all types of our users.
  • Help add additional functionality, such as scheduling and ranking to make sure the right users are getting the right notifications!

You Have:

  • 7-10+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with notifications such as Mobile Push Notifications, Web Notifications, Email or SMS notifications.
  • Experience working with big data, data pipelines, and data analytics.
  • Experience in compiled languages such as C# or Java.
  • Experience with API design patterns, server-side architecture/design.
  • Led large technically complex projects.

You Are:

  • Familiar with A/B Testing.
  • Capable of leading complex projects across multiple teams.
  • Someone who enjoys providing mentorship to other engineers.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$315,850—$383,910 USD
