About The Role

Rippling is growing exceptionally fast and we have a 650 person engineering team that ships code dozens of times every day. The Observability Platform team is responsible for building and managing observability tools for our engineering org. The team also ensures that we use proper monitoring practices and cover all critical areas of the product. You’d be working with technologies like Datadog, Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana and custom made Python frameworks. This is a high leverage and high visibility role which will have a direct impact on all of Rippling engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Develop high quality and reliable software using Python, Go and other relevant programming languages
  • Develop the next generation of Rippling observability stack with Kubernetes and Cloud native components like eBPF
  • Build abstractions and frameworks that simplify setting up proper observability
  • Manage installation and configuration for Datadog, Sentry, Prometheus and other technologies
  • Become in-house experts and provide consultation to product engineers on tools and frameworks

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of proven experience as Backend/Infra Software Engineer
  • [Bonus] Experience with Observability and cloud (AWS/Kubernetes/Sentry/Datadog) technologies
  • [Bonus] Experience with Python or Go
  • Passion for tracking metrics in distributed high scale systems
