Senior Backend Software Engineer

We are hiring for a Senior Backend Software Engineer:

Senior Backend Software Engineers contribute to every stage of building the Replicated delivery and management platform. They implement, test, and deploy new enhancements and updates to our products. This role primarily focuses on backend Go APIs of our SaaS product. 

As a member of the team you will get to use cutting-edge technology and emerging open source tools and standards. Our stack includes Go, Typescript, object and relational data stores, Kubernetes, and more. You’ll get an opportunity to work across the stack and build software for our highly technical user-base of software developers, taking lead on our backend Go APIs. You won’t be locked into legacy products or technology, our engineers learn something new every day.

What you'll be doing:

• Work with product managers, designers, and core engineers from prototype to production
• Build public and internal APIs
• Mentor and be mentored, based on your experience level
• Participate in a team based on-call and support rotations for our products 

What you'll bring to the role:

• Experience as a developer in a SaaS org
• Professional experience with a statically typed, compiled language like Go, C/C++, Java, Node is also acceptable with an interest in learning Typescript
• Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills
• Maintained SaaS software with a focus on backend APIs
• Modernized legacy code
• Been a SME on a project you worked on
• Understand security risks when building APIs
• Comfort in interfacing with our clients to help them troubleshoot issues they may run into

Bonus points for: 

• Open Source contributions
• Experience with Kubernetes 
• A good understanding of networking
• Worked with infrastructure as code
• Lead a major project mentoring other developers

In the US, the salary range for this role is as follows:

Software Engineer II: $140,000 - $160,000
Sr. Software Engineer I: $155,000 - $180,000
Sr. Software Engineer II: $175,000 - $195,000

This is dependent on several factors, including level, qualifications, and experience.
