As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Via, you’ll utilize your expertise in Kubernetes to produce tools for our scalable software solutions. As a member of our freshly created cross-functional team, you will be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. You will design, implement, and manage our infrastructure to ensure the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of Via's solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Proactively handle service and infrastructure outages, conduct in-depth root cause analyses, and implement actions to mitigate incidents. While some alerts or incidents will be accompanied by runbooks, your understanding of our infrastructure will be essential in troubleshooting unanticipated alerts or crashes.
  • Design, maintain, and upgrade infrastructure.
  • Mentoring for simplifying the database areas among the teams with regard to retention, load, user data distribution, troubleshooting, performance, and other database-related concerns.
  • Work on mission-critical systems in a large-scale production environment.
  • Utilize cloud-native advanced technologies and solutions such as Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Prometheus, and cloud-managed services.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as provisioning and cost optimization, while ensuring compatibility with existing applications and data.

Who You Are:

  • BS degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role, with a focus on Kubernetes.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in: Linux; AWS Cloud; Networking - OSI layers, debugging, and troubleshooting network issues. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in working and troubleshooting production workloads.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Go, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, components, and best practices.
  • Experience in production environments with a focus on disaster recovery, large scalability, and upgrades with zero downtime.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex issues in distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with related tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Github actions.
  • Experience with monitoring tools - Prometheus, Grafana, Newrelic, Datadog, etc.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Newrelic, Datadog, etc. 
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, and geo-distributed team environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
  • Salary Range: $130,000- $150,000 per year
