About the role

As a Magento Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to clients utilizing Magento e-commerce platforms. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to Magento installations, customizations, extensions, and integrations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Magento architecture, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to clients using Magento e-commerce platforms via ticketing systems, email, phone, or chat.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to Magento installations, configurations, customizations, extensions, themes, and integrations
  • Collaborate with clients, developers, and third-party vendors to understand and resolve complex technical problems utilizing chat and ticketing systems.
  • Perform Magento version upgrades, patches, and security updates to ensure the stability and security of e-commerce platforms.
  • Configure and optimize server environments for optimal performance and scalability of Magento applications.
  • Develop custom scripts, extensions, or patches to address unique client requirements or technical challenges.
  • Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for knowledge sharing and reference purposes.
  • Train clients and internal staff on the proper use of Magento platforms, features, and functionalities.
  • Stay updated with the latest Magento releases, patches, and best practices to provide proactive support and recommendations to clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working with Magento e-commerce platforms in a technical support or system administration role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Magento architecture, including modules, themes, layouts, and backend/frontend development.
  • Proficiency in PHP programming language and experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
  • Experience with React, Angular, or related JS programming languages and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in Magento development or administration (e.g., Magento Certified Developer, Magento Certified Solution Specialist) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Magento 2.x and familiarity with its architecture and features.
  • Knowledge of Magento extensions, APIs, and integration with third-party systems (payment gateways, shipping carriers, ERP systems).
  • Experience working with Scrumban and Kanban in Azure ADO.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for Magento applications (caching, indexing, optimization).
  • Understanding of e-commerce business processes and industry best practices.
  • Experience with debugging tools and performance monitoring tools for Magento applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
