Senior Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components. Complete complex bug fixes. Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. Train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles. Keep abreast of new technology developments. Design and work with complex data models. Mentor less-senior software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.

• Also required is: 5 years of experience: Leveraging advanced development skills in HPCC ECL and database concepts; writing queries using SQL; using UNIX scripts; working with GIT repos to perform builds for deployment to Dev/QA and PROD environments; working with architects, other developers, and QA; designing and working with complex data models; using data manipulation language including optimization techniques; using normalized/dimensional data modelling principles; coding from design specs and contributing to designs; working in test-driven development style; and working within the Telematics and OEM industry.
• Employee reports to LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Inc. office in Alpharetta, GA but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
• Experience can be concurrent.
