About the Team  

This Team performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products.  

About the Role  

This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.  

Responsibilities:  

• Develop and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using PHP and Laravel 

• Design and implement RESTful APIs for web applications 

• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to integrate user-facing elements 

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software to ensure strong optimization and functionality 

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices 

• Integrate third-party services and APIs. Manage database schema changes and ensure data integrity using MySQL/PostgreSQL 

• Use version control systems like Git for code management and collaboration 

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests 

Requirements:  

• 8+ years of experience with PHP and Laravel framework 

• Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL databases and query optimization 

• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows. Familiarity with Composer, artisan CLI, queues, and scheduling 

• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices 

• Strong understanding of OOP, MVC architecture, and RESTful API design. Experience with debugging and performance profiling tools 

• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines 

• Knowledge of microservices architecture. Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure). Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) 

• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA/
