Senior Software Engineer I

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Perform full-stack development across the complete development life cycle delivering highly available cloud solutions and adding new capabilities to existing applications. Work with development teams and ensure the best practices are adhered to in are as such as unit and integration testing, CI/CD, documentation, security, and software design principals. Responsible for development of web-based enterprise applications from specifications. Write robust code with built-in unit testing. Work closely with various teams to develop new products. Log and track assigned defects to closure using standard tools. Responsible for staying current on advancements in technology, design practices, and architecture, as well as the latest software and networking processes, tools, and methods, and for making recommendations on how these advances can be applied to the current products and engineering practices. Responsible for reporting progress against schedule for all assigned tasks on a regular basis. Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve technical issues as necessary. Keep abreast of new technology developments. Complete bug fixes. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• 3 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.

• Also required is:
  • 3 years of experience in: designing and developing high scale, high volume microservice architecture-based applications using Java, J2EE, spring boot, REST APIs, Graph QL and Web Services; securing REST Api’s using Authentication mechanisms like OAuth 2.0.; working in cloud services like s3, RDS, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes to develop cloud native applications on AWS and Azure; and developing classes using core java (multithreading, concurrency, memory management) and some spring IOC, using spring dependency injection, annotations, and Spring MVC components to implement business layer and navigation part of application.
  • 2 years of experience in: agile methodologies and support end to end SDLC cycle including requirements gathering, postproduction support, analyzing bugs in collaboration with stakeholders from SRE and product management; managing large data stores with tools including or similar to: Elasticsearch, MariaDB, MongoDB and working with Relational databases; working on database objects like Stored Procedures, Tables, Views, Sequences, Cursors, Packages and Triggers; implementing Unit and Integration tests using Mockito; and enable Swagger for API documentation and postman for API testing.
• Employee reports to LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc. office in Chicago, IL, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
• Experience can be concurrent.
